Best audio among all solid state receivers?

I fired up the old Lowe HF-150 this afternoon and was again bowled over
by the quality of its audio.

This made me wonder: Which solid state receiver has the best audio? And
I don't mean the best audio with the built in speaker, but with a
reasonably good external speaker.

Is it the HF-150? The HF-225? Something else?

What's your opinion?

Steve

I own HF-150, AR-7030+ SW-8 and SW-2. Personally, I prefer the Drakes
for overall ear pleasing sound. Although, a trademark of John Thorpe
receivers is fine audio indeed.

My Harmon-Karden with a nicely matched set if Infinity acoustic suspension
floor speakers fed from an equalizer perfectly tuned for room acoustics.

Perfect sound indoors is impossible.

I used to have an ICF-2010 on an umbilical snake (4.5 Vdc, transformer
driven balanced audio, super flexible RG-6) connected to my 120'
random wire, running through a stereo receiver with JBL-Century 100s.
That sounded pretty damn good on KUSW.
