Hit those thrift stores!

cuhulin... you're going to like this one.

Went to the local Disabled American Veterans thrift store this afternoon and
was "shocked" to see a guy walking up to the counter with a nice Panasonic
RF-2200 for $9! I rarely see them at hamfests let alone thrift stores. Would
of been mine if I would have got there 5 minutes earlier.

Everyone don't dismiss thrift stores as only having clothes and housewares.
There's good finds to be had.

Where are you located? I'm wondering how long before we see an eBay
auction for a '2200 from someone in your town.

I got an ICF-5900 at Goodwill just west of downtown San Francisco for
IIRC $19 around 1998.

St. Vincent DePaul is where I purchased my fully functional Zenith
Trans-Oceanic Royal '3000' for a whopping $5... Nice radio, in great
shape..

Well,if your wife didn't want you having that sailboat and motor and
trailer for free, you could have explained,we can advertize that stuff in
the paper and make some free money.I went to welding classes at Raymond
Juinor College on the G.I.Bill in 1973,night classes.A guy at welding
classes was restoring his 1955 Chevrolet car at his home, one night he
said his wife sold his 1955 Chevy car he was restoring for $50.00.

Bicycles usually sell for about $15.00 or less at the Goodwill store I
go to,some super duper real fancy bicycles sell for about what you paid
for your Schwinn bicycle.(back in the olden days,Schwinn once built an
automobile) I bought two good like new hardback books with the book
jacket covers on them at the Goodwill store this afternoon. The Victors
by Stephen E. Ambrose and Citizen Soldiers by Stephen E. Ambrose.I am
going to enjoy reading those two books.
