Look here, Oswald. If I want unvarnished media I have to make it up
in my head. All venues are subject to manipulaqtion, Psy-ops
mind****ing, and general disinformation.

In fact,, the medium you trust the most is most likely the one they'll
use against you.

I like International Broadcasting for the cultural aspects, not
because I know the domestic media is totally corrupt. Klezmer music
or Gamelan sounds a lot better on a digital link than it does after
being bounced off the collapsing atmosphere.

I have a ****load of superb HF receivers I can use for backup, in case
Poindexter pulls the plug on SDARS. But I doubt the mind****ers will
be that overt. They prefer to enslave us with kindness.

Somebody obviously nailed you. Is that why your eye bulges out a little?

appears to be a list (I don't know how current) of all IBA shortwave
frequencies and there's also a satellite frequency/subcarrier list but
the satellite is at 75 degrees EAST of Greenwich so that's probably
not going to be very useful in North America.

The PDF file was last modified: Thu, 19 May 2005 01:02:55 GMT.

bet.iba.org.il server doesn't give a last modified date.

I think it's not the technology or the clarity of sound that counts,
but the experience of listening....
Most people in this group LIKE listening to their their music after
it's bounced of the Ionosphere.

tell me the 40's-50's music Radio New Zealand broadcasts doesn't sound
more interesting after a few hops

It's just Cool listening to music broadcast from 6,000 miles away..

Then it's 4 times as cool from 23,000 miles away? I find the flanging
and the static preclude listening with others.

I understand the romance. RNZI is especially romantic as their POS
transmitter is probably only putting out 10 or 15 kW on a good day.

But Tahiti was way more challenging...

Nobody appreciates a nice HF broadcast more than me when I'm hiking
with a water bottle and a little radio.

But I also appreciate being able to punch-up a nice clean broadcast
on demand.

My shortwaves listen for airplanes with bad hydraulic pumps or
sinkinjg fishing boats. I love listening to thunderstorms 500 miles
away. And the chirpsounder makes my day.

But if I want to listen to Israel/Palestine coming unglued, I'm going
for the satellite.

So, Ace, are they on the air or not? That web page is several months
old. I hear nothing on 9345.
