Sony 7600 front cover crack

My Sony ICF-SW7600GR developed a very small crack in one corner of the front
plastic cover (lower right), where the front cover meets its rear
counterpart.

I do not consider replacing it anytime soon, but I would like to know how
much it could cost as well as whether this part will be available in a few
years. As I consider replacing it when the print starts getting off.

Cheers.

P.S.

Is there any howto on how to replace the front cover? I have some doubts
about the lanyard swivel.

Order it now, or forget it. Sony doesn't keep spare parts like they
used to.

If you get the front panel off and you want to repair the crack,a
permanent repair is to scuff up the area under the front panel where the
crack is with a piece of coarse grade sandpaper and use some epoxy
fiberglass resin (marine supply stores and building supply stores such
as Sears and Home Depot sell fiberglass resin and fiberglass cloth) and
cut a few pieces of fiberglass cloth and use that to repair the cracked
area.

Be prepared for sticker shock. About 10 years ago, I paid almost US$10

They're asking $69.78 + shipping and local sales tax for it!

I'll better buy from another brand next time...

I hope (swear) to get a donor someday... :´-(

I don't think that will help. Replacement parts, especially the
non-generic ones, are always expensive.

Ouch, very ouch!
