KTRH 740kHz Houston & WBAP 820kHz Ft. Worth TX
500,000 watts. XERF, XERL? Wolfman Jack was on it/them.
|
Perhaps it was 500,000 Watts,I don't remember,but the radio
station/program in Del Rio,Texas I liked to listen to (Wolfman Jack was great too) came on the after midnight and I liked to listen to the preacher guy on there.I don't remember the call letters of the radio station or the name of the preacher guy. There is some interesting Del Rio History and other History about those Texas towns out that way. www.devilfinder.com History of Del Rio Texas cuhulin |
I think that paticular radio station went off the air permantenly about
10 or 15 years ago? Seems to me I once heard some news on my radio about that. cuhulin |
I bet HellPope Huey knows of that preacher guy that used to broadcast
late nights out of Del Rio,Texas I used to listen to as far back as the 1950's.Where you at HellPope Huey? It might have been that Ray Brubaker guy. cuhulin |

KTRH has gotta beam towards the west and south because KRMG Tulsa operates
25000 watts at night on 740 MHz towards the east and north. WBAP Fort Worth on 820 MHz sounds like a local all throughout the midwest at night. "SeeingEyeDog" wrote in message ... KTRH Houston, also a 50KW station but using a directional antenna pattern, should be listenable to much of the Midwest depending on conditions. |
www.devilfinder.com Doctor Brinkley Del Rio Texas
Doctor John Romulus Brinkley was born on July 8,1885 died May 26,1941.I was born on Nevember 5,1941,so it wasen't Doctor Brinkley that I used to listen to out of Del Rio,Texas.Doctor Brinkley has a funny interesting History though and he really was a Quack too, check it out,it's a real Hoot.By the way, there is a rumor going around here in Jackson that fema is taking over the gas stations.A rumor that started somewhere in Mississippi or wherever last Friday, some idiot told a woman at a gas station that fema is taking over all of the gas stations.Guess what, those idiots are lining up at the gas stations again around here. Some folks are phonening in to the local Jackson,JT and Dave radio talk show about it.Fortunately,I gased up my car last week so I won't have to worry about it for about two more months.Run Chicken Little,Run! fema is taking over all of the gas stations! NOT True! cuhulin |

Please pass the barbecued iguana. Is that goat's head soup? Yes, I'd
like some of that too. "Heard it on the X" http://altmusic.about.com/b/a/170237.htm |

It has a little lobe going straight for your house. I wasn't kidding. Chill. You get your medications straightened out, 'tard boy? dxAce Michigan USA |

I'm not that far from you and I can pick out KTRH using a Terk loop with a Boston Recepter on the night stand. It isn't usually armchair copy but when conditions are very good it is easily readable. Besides KTRH & WBAP I don't know of any other MW stations in Tejas that are in hurricane Rita's strike zone and can make it out of the Southwest. |

I am listening to KTRH Houston right now on my Panasonic model RF-708
AM/FM radio,in fact, any of my radios that work at all and have the AM band can pick up KTRH. Quite a bit of long distance background noise though.A guy by the name of Chris at KTRH said they will be simulcasting with their sister FM station. cuhulin |
WBAP 820 Fort Worth is coming in pretty good,KRLD 1080 Dallas comes in
pretty good too,but they do have that long distance back ground noise. cuhulin |
But y'all know how it is,you have to have that node pointing straight at
you or else you won't be able to hear anything at all.Radius = Radio,, Radiating.Radio gets it's name from,Radius. cuhulin |

On June 5,2001 Tropical storm Allison made landfall at Galveston,Texas
and the resulting heavy rains flooded parts of Houston,Texas. www.devilfinder.com Houston Texas Flood If Rita moves up the Houston Ship Channel,I think Houston is going to be flooded.I remember seeing pictures on tv and on the internet of flooded buildings, homes, shopping mall, etc in the Houston area.Lawrence Welk used to run that Galveston song so much I thought I would never get that song out of my mind,Galvestonnnn,oh Galvestonnn, same with the Goldfinger 007 theme music at the Post Cafeteria at Fort Hood,Texas in 1965.I got so tired of hearing that Goldfingerrrrrrrr,,,,,,, theme music on the Post Cafeteria sound system,I quit going to that cafeteria. cuhulin |

At 9 o'clock Thursday night, KTRH 740 in Houston is coming in loud and clear on my house radios, the CCRadio and the GE SuperRadio III. The signal's doing a nice job, due West here in San Antonio, about 200 miles. Bob k5qwg |
