Midland Weather Radio WR-300

I just got this radio. Reading through the manual. I am using a TV
VHF/UHF on the roof. I am looking for fibs codes for my area.

SR 73!

That antenna is wrong. Radio Shack has weather band antennas.

I hate going to radio shack. Do you know where else I could go for an
antena?

Also, why couldn't I use a scanner antenna?

Call Universal or Grove, but what's wrong with RS products......

Also, why couldn't I use a scanner antenna?

No reason not to as long as you can make the connectors work.
But do you need an antenna....???

A scanner antenna would work. Why do you hate going to Radio Shack?

Uhhh...before you go too far, be sure to read the reviews on this
Weather Radio. It's a mixed bag, especially with comments like: When
left turned on to silently monitor for the alert tones, the speaker
constantly emits static just loud enough to be annoying in an otherwise
quiet room, making bedside use next to impossible. Or: My radio might
be an anomoly, but it is expensive for what I got (and didn't get).

I'm pleased with it. Great performer with no problems, and I do leave
it on all the time in my bedroom and haven't noticed any background
noise. Admittedly, the ergonomics are pretty obnoxious.

To the OP: mine does just fine with the integrated whip; do you know
that you need an external antenna for it?

I have the WR-100 and it works great. I use an R75 for my AM and a
Tivoli Model One for FM. My brain has a built-in alarm clock.

DaviD Says - " My brain has a built-in alarm clock. "

What would also be cool is an antenna switcher for BNC. Do they make a
BNC type?
