communities in north Africa and the Levant certanly survived and
thrived under Fatimites and the Hamdanids. You have been taken in by
the Crusader propaganda.

The United States is a representative republic. This was clearly the
original intent of the founding fathers. You have the right to
petition the government to change the laws that you do not like. If
the majority of the legislature does not agree with you, you can either

Both Islam and Christianity had their murderous "Crusades" - semantics.

Godwin's law (also Godwin's rule of Nazi analogies) is an adage in
Internet culture that was originated by Mike Godwin in 1990. The law
states that:

As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a
comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1.

There is a tradition in many Usenet newsgroups that once such a
comparison is made, the thread is over, and whoever mentioned the
Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress.
Godwin's law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper
bound on thread length in those groups. Many people understand
