Default Distress Freq's Question: 2182 and 2187.5 ?

Hello:

Haven't looked at this stuff in quite a while.

2182 USB was what I remember as the emergency distress freq.
Is it still used ? How and where ?

I just noticed that 2187.5 is also listed.
How does this differ in usage from 2182 ?
Also USB ?

Thanks,
Bob

2187.5 is used for DSC (Digital Selective Calling) emergency alerts.

As I recall the watch on 2182 was stopped years ago.
