Looking for All Indian Radio
I like different types of music. Jazz, rock, country etc. I am looking
for a good FRQ for All Indian Radio. I use the MT mag to find them, but for some reason I can not seem to pick up the FRQ. I am in the New York City area. Is there anyone in my area that can pick that station up? SR! |

If lack the space for a more traditional antenna, a Wellbrook loop
might be a good choice: http://www.wellbrook.uk.com/ You might not need the rotor, depending on which antenna you buy and how noisy your surroundings are. If you have any questions, just give Andy Ikin a call. |

Some of the work better than others on MW. When you visit the site, you
should be able to download details on the different models they have available. |

Not really, I used:
CB fiberglass whip on the roof. With RG 213/U coax about 100 feet, with 4 loop choke. 90 foot dipole each side coil on the window on PVC tubing (home-brew) TV VHF/UHF on the roof. Other accessories: MFJ antenna switch box. KOSS headphones, MT Magazine, Heathkit scope Mr Coffee, cigars and ash tray. My main sw radio, I use the ICOM R75. Now, my question then is: So I could better identify All Indian Station, how do they broadcast to the Americas? Is it in English? Is it in talk and some music? Or all music? Do they give world news? BTW what is the most popular or easiest sw station to pick up in Asia? Other then China Radio International, Voice of Vietnam, Radio Japan and Radio Taiwan International. 73, SR! wrote: Sounds like you've got antenna problems. |
Looking for All Indian Radio
Yes when I use my ICOM R75 or Grundig Sat. 800. But not for all other
radio. Sometimes the telescopic antenna works better! I've seen this word before what is null? BTW I have a friend who has the book EASY-UP ANTENNAS FOR RADIO LISTENERS AND HAMS, EDWARD M NOLL. Maybe I'll take a look at it. Yes please tell me more about loop antennas.

What is the (z) in 1330? And how could I find sw logs that others can
share. I am thinking about keeping logs myself. I think it would be nice to be able to give exchange signal report with others. 73 SR! The good directions are ''lobes'' the bad directions are ''nulls''. A loop antenna has killer nulls perpundicular to the plane of the coils. If you are trying to hear on a channel with more than one station you can steer the null toward one of the stations and then just hear the other one. This is the #1 advantage of a loop antenna, IMHO. |

I read your message. If you get this message on time, I am getting a
station that sound like Indian music. Around Bettween 7.15 and 7.2 am. Sorry but I am using my Hammarlund 170. The dial is hard to read. Hey: It was one of those moments when a swl all of the sudden find
something on the airwaves and gets excited. By the time I would of connected my R75, which was put away, the broadcast could of disappeared. Considering the effort, it was only something to share. It's nice to see the younger generation taking an interest in Indian
music. My advice to you, SR: avoid the Bollywood garbage. Since you're in the NYC area, I suggest you make a trip to Jackson Heights, NJ, visit one or two of the Indian music stores there, and get yourself some CDs of Indian classical music. I would recommend Shiv Kumar Sharma, India's foremost santur maestro. Have fun with your radios, but don't neglect your studies. |
