whats a radio direction finder??? is that a green radio made by ratheon? i just picked up one of these at a garage sale - haven't tried it yet, but it does have a LW band. thanks, john |

It was an old boating radio navigational tool. The idea was to find two or more known LF beacons, and by rotating the antenna to null out the signals, you could determine your position. That sort of system has been largely replaced by GPS, but they are very sensitive LW receivers with good image rejection. I don't have a Raytheon model...so can't tell you anything on those. Jeff |

thought it looked interesting. it does have a rotating antenna and made by ratheon, but i havn't powered it up yet. now i will give it a try. thanks, john |
