Damn! You sure are stupid, Rickets!

It's a defense mechanism. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, so
I don't have any.

Did he just call himself stupid?

Not at all. Please let me clarify. He merely said he didn't have any
'little knowledge' because it's a dangerous thing. That, by implication,
means he has the opposite of 'little knowledge', as in 'the bigger picture'.

As an historical aside, the phrase a 'bigger knowledge' is used during
Graduation Ceremonies in Georgia, USA.

For the lucky few who manage to completely FINISH their grade nine
curricula that is.

Pilot Reports 'Missile' Fired at Jetliner Near LAX (11/28/05)

FBI agents and Homeland Security officials spent the weekend
investigating the report of a possible missile fired at an American
Airlines plane taking off from Los Angeles International Airport.
Sources tell ABC News the pilot of American Airlines Flight 621, en
route to Chicago, radioed air traffic controllers after takeoff from
LAX. He told them a missile had been fired at the aircraft and missed.

The plane was over water when the pilot said he saw a smoke trail pass
by the cockpit.

FBI agents believe it was a flare or a bottle rocket, but say they may
never know if that's what it actually was.

Very possible. Some model rockets can do that pretty easily. A typical
bottle rocket, no way.

I don't think model rockets are allowed near the airport.

Neither are boxcutters and sissors. But the FAA has box loads of them. I
wonder what they do with all those things confiscated at airports? Ebay?
They make so-called "quarter-mile" bottle rockets but I'm not sure how far
they actually fly. Might have to try some out next summer. :-)

I think a commercial pilot knows the difference between a bottle
rocket and a missile.

That's why I think it was a model rocket, they look very much like a missle.
The article said they only saw the smoke plume, and not the object itself.

So yo think it's OK to play with model rockets here?

Your map didnt come up, but I assume it was by an airport which launching
model rockets is prohibited. That never seems to stop some people though. I
once launched a very small rocket (the Streak) with a VERY large engine.
Never saw it again, outta sight man.
