---Why All the Juvenile Posts on this NG?---
 

I left this newsgroup a little over a year ago because of all the juvenile
goings on.
So, I came back recently to see how things were going and because my SW
interest
was picking up again.
What do I see?

"So and so is an as*#ho#e"
"Check out nig**mania"
"Mentoring and s#x: Boys & ....."
"Stevie sh*t"
"Bush on the Constitution: 'It's just a go**^^%%$#ed piece of paper"

I mean, come on people, what is this?
A newsgroup where like minded people can come to learn about and discuss
this wonderful hobby?
Or a 4th grade class of juvenille delinquents?

In fairness, 99.9% of you are great and make great posts.
But don't reply to the other .1% idiot's posts and fuel their fire.
They live for this and you all know it.
Isn't there some way to ban those morons?

I generally like this NG and learn an awful lot of great stuff that enhances
my
SW listening experience.
But it seems like nothing has changed in the last year.
Please help me understand?

I can understand your frustrating, but lately I've actually been seeing
a lot more _on topic_ posts than not. A few weeks ago it was pretty
bad...lots of Bush related topics and kooks posting. Seems like the
past week or so has been better...maybe the idiots took the holiday off.

subscribe to their particlular brand of religion and politics.

Yeah, that does bother me if the idiots chased off folks from other
countries whose input into this group would make it a more worthwhile hub
for sharing info.

I guess I was just looking at usenet as a whole and not just RRS.

Sure they can. All you have to do is make someone feel unwelcome. This is
a great hobby especially if we can share it with people in other countries.
This has also been a terrific newsgroup for advice and experience (for me
anyway).
(just my humble opinion)

Your best bet is to simply ignore all of the useless political
threads....mostly just a bunch of simple-minded buffoons who seem to be
hell-bent on proving to one another just how moronic they are.
On the whole, though, this remains one of the better venues for
informed opinions on shortwave-related topics. Provided you avoid
becoming mired the off-putting rubbish, I'm sure you'll find
participation in this group to be worthwhile.
