Default indoor reception

I am really having a hard time with local interference in my apartment building. I get good reception outside and away from the building, but it's cold outside at night when I do most of my listening.

I have a Sony ICF-SW7600GR and a Degen DE31 active loop antenna. Both are running on batteries. The DE31 doesn't usually strengthen the signal much because the whip antenna is right by a window. Maybe I haven't tuned it carefully enough. The window that's convenient for me to use is facing north-northeast.

My apartment building is plagued by dimmer switches, televisions, and my own computer (which I try to keep away from the radio).

Could anyone suggest anything that could help reduce the interference?
