with the speakers, makes listening to any SW/AM broadcast programs a
real joy.

How so? I have mine mounted at ear level on either side of my
computer display and the sound is in the middle of my head, like with
hearphones.

hearphones.

The radio output is ~ 8 ohms the same as the impedance of the average
speaker. Best bet is put them in series. The situation adds well if you
happen to have two 4 ohm speakers in series but most bookshelf are 8
ohms. One loudspeaker does the job anyway.

I used before and I chanced because they are not well shielded and produced
interference sound during transmitting on VHF. Now I use a telephone
amplifier system bought on a flea market. I use this with my Teletron TE
704 C receiver, it has only a control speaker.

I use the stereo aux input on my Klipsch Promedia 2.1 set with my
Sangean 909 and sounds very good.
