That is a Hallicrafters Radio in the boat in the Key Largo movie on tv
right now.It has the big h on it.Those Hallicrafters Radios were popular
Radios in a lot of those old movies.I hope one of those stray bullets
didn't hit that Radio.Of course they were only shootin blanks.

Along this same general thread of Hallicrafters rigs in entertainment,
at Disney's California Adventure, there is a decorative construction
leading up to one of its rides (also known as theming) that includes an
"adventure base station" with at least a Hallicrafters receiver and may
have included (IIIRC) a Hallicrafters transmitter. It's been awhile
since I was there, but I think it was along the queue for the Grizzly
Rapids raft ride.

Good old rigs
I understand a lot of Hams gave their radios to the military - they were in
short supply
So probably many Hallicrafters went to war and never came back

CL -- I doubt, therefore I might be !

In the 2006 Passport there's a picture of an American SW transmitter
that somehow fell into the hands of the Red Chinese and was used in the
civil war that Mao won. Said tx is now in a Chinese museum.

The picture in Passport appears to be of a military issue rig. Maybe
somebody else can look a little closer at the pic and confirm.
