Excellent performers. Magnavox made some fine high quality portable
shortwave radios during the late 70s and early 80s. The higher end models
rival radios like the Sony 2010 in performance. That being said, it's hard
to find a good working D2999 due to CPU, LCD display, and keyboard contact
problems mostly brought on due to age.

Has anyone ever used a Magnavox Philips D2999. I've heard a lot of good
things about them, but hardly ever seem them up for auction. Seems to be
a good example on ebay.
