That's building wire and the spool looks less than full.

Building wire is good! The antennas here are made from #10. Found a very large full spool of it along
the road here a few years back. The spool is 13 1/2" diameter and 10 1/2 high.

That's kind of crazy.

Actually, it's very good wire.

''As a young boy chasing dragons with your wooden sword so mighty
You're St. George or you're David and you always killed the beast
Times change very quickly and you had to grow up early
A house in smoking ruins and the bodies at your feet

You'll die as you lived in a flash of the blade
In a corner forgotten by no-one
You lived for touch, for the feel of the steel
One man and his honour
The smell of resined leather, the steely iron mask
As you cut and thrust and parried at the fencing master's call
He taught you all he ever knew, to fear no mortal man
And now you'll wreak your vengeance in the screams of evil men

You'll die as you lived in a flash of the blade
In a corner forgotten by no-one
You lived for touch, for the feel of the steel
One man and his honour
(2:02-Instrumental)

Die as you lived in a flash of the blade
In a corner forgotten by no-one
You lived for touch, for the feel of the steel
One man and his honour''

Hmm, it says Machine Tool Wire right on the spool.

Heavy Duty -vice- Quality Antenna Wire = Size -v- Durability

David - I will See-your-19-Strands with 41-Strands
and Raise-you-168-Strands more :o) ~ RHF

The two Antenna Wires that I like are :
[ Heavy Duty is 'ok' - but Strong-and-Durable is Better ]
* Quality Over Quantity (Size)

"QuietFlex" Antenna Wire by Antennas & Mo
Insulated, Strong, Flexible and Durable
http://www.antennasmore.com/wire&.htm
"QuietFlex" #14 AWG Wire has more than 41 Strands tightly twisted
together under its Flexible Insulation making it both Strong,
Flexible and Durable.

"Flex-Weave" Antenna Wire
http://www.radio-ware.com/products/fw.htm
"Flex-Weave" is a hybrid aerial wire that consists of 168 strands
of woven #36 solid copper wires that provide high strength and
extreme flexibility. The most popular version of "Flex-Weave"
is the 'equivalent' of #14 AWG wire size. It can be 'used' for
unsupported spans up to 200 ft (100-150 ft in areas with high ice
and wind loading).

* FLEXWEAVE 14 AWG with extra tough Black Polyethylene jacket.
168 strand copper ultra-flexible antenna wire.
Break strength 149 lbs.

NOTE - This same type of THHN THWN Machine Tool Wire
High-Temp Oil&Grease Resistant in AWG Size # 14 is a
reasonabily good Antenna Wire for most home-made
Antennas used by SHortwave Listeners (SWL).

Question ? WHY ? Use Size # 8 Wire when the smaller size
# 14 Wire of the same type of Wire will get the job done at a
lessor cost and just may stay-in-the-air longer ?
{ Beter Value -and- Better Performance }

hope this helps - iane ~ RHF

You just let that monkey on your back to all the thinking for you. Is
it time for that next fix yet?
