Not much for me to write today as I'm about to head to the Yarra River
and enjoy the opening night of The Commonwealth Games here in Melbourne, Australia. Today I post on a number of international newsgroups, as well as posting on aus.radio.broadcast, so G'day to anyone that may be reading this from outside Australia. March 15 is a special day because I get to remember this day, 17 years ago, as the first day I crossed the international dateline and landed in the United States of America, first in Honolulu, then in Los Angeles. 17 years later, I've got to give come credit to my favourite Los Angeles radio brand, namely 102.7 KIIS FM ( http://www.kiisfm.com/main.html ) who since 1989 have retained the same logo and much the same format. One of KIIS-FM's positioners - "LA's #1 Hit Music Station" has inspired our local 101.9 Fox FM to adopt a similar image. Catching a shuttle bus from LAX to Anaheim on the night of my family's arrival, I was amazed how scattered the freeway was with advertising billboards, and how......er......."orange" the clouds in the sky looked (to explain what I mean, here's a link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_pollution ![]() In coming days, I'll try to recall some more about my time in the United States, but not just for its own sake. *radio*active is a new "blogging" report. In my next post, I'll also explain what my objectives are for this new blog. ....From Justin |
