Apparently the BBC has a broadcast out of Oman to "W Asia" in a language that Passport classifies as "other" that is jammed. This is on 6090 from 1600 to 2000 UTC. I'm not sure who in West Asia would be jamming a BBC tx, or who this tx is aimed at. Iran, possibly? One of the former Soviet republics in that part of the world? Nepal? Passport breaks out Russian as a separate language, and it's not Russian. Your first guess was right. It's Farsi, according to ILG; so the transmission would be intended for Iranian audiences. |
