The 1L6 tube in the Zenith Trans-Oceanic is normally the only problem you
may encounter with this receiver.

Don't believe it. They are 50 years old and need a lot of work to be
reliable. If they don't have all of the coupling capacitors replaced
you will be buying a lot of tubes.

One other problem that I found to be fairly common with these sets is
dirty contacts on the "line plug operated" switch that transfers between
AC and battery operation.

Not to mention the crumbling plastic and brittle wire.

I can see an old radio could be a problem for the mentally and technically
challenged. Now go enjoy your Plastic radios and I'll enjoy the rich, full
sound from my five tube Transoceanic.

Made in America it was.
