Concerning the MFJ-1024 Active Antenna that covers
50 kHz to 30 MHz. I would agree that a MFJ-1024 is
a good Active Antenna for use with many Radios.

WHY TOP RAIL ?
The use of the single piece of Top Rail creates :
* A "Free Standing" Antenna Support Structure
with a relative small ground foot print.
* Allows the location of the Antenna Element {The Whip} :
Away-from-the-House or Above-the-Roof and By-Itself.
* A solid 3-5 Foot earth Grounding point for both
the Antenna and Radio.
* Plus it Elevates the Antenna's Whip Element about
twice it's height above ground level 16 to 18 Feet.
TIP - Route the Coax Cable straight down the Top Rail
to ground level and secure it to the Top Rail every
few feet.
