I haven't listened to RAI for a few years.

You hear that tone in the broadcast that warbles with the modulation? I
think it is something that biases the transmitter PA stage at some
point. The only time the tone is steady is when there is a quiet moment.
Almost sounds like weather fax when music is playing or someone is
talking.
