Eton E1 Radio + Select-A-Tenna + Lazy Susan

GSW,

FYI - The Select-A-Tenna is an AM/MW "Air Core" Loop Antenna
a Ferrite Bar or Rod is not used within the Select-A-Tenna [.]

Have you tried using the Select-A-Tenna with a Lazy Susan
using a Coupling Coil with the Collapsed Whip Antenna ?

Use an Speaker Wire Audio Cable with an 1/8" Mono-Plug
at one end to Plug into the Select-A-Tenna Model 541-M
which has the 1/8" Jack built into it.

Collapse the Whip Antenna on the E1 Radio until there is
only about an Inch or Two "Stub" Sticking out of the Case.

Wrap a thin piece of Cardboard around it and Tape the
Cardboard to from a Coil Form. Wrap Ten to Twenty Truns
of Insulated Hook-Up Wire on the Coil Form. You now have
a Coupling Coil for the Whip Antenna.

Connect the ends of Wires from the Coupling Coil to the
ends of the Wires coming from the Speaker Wire Audio Cable
with the 1/8" Mono-Plug.

Place the Coupling Coil over the Whip Antenna Stub.

Plug the 1/8" Mono-Plug into the Select-A-Tenna.

Turn the E1 Radio "ON" and then Tune the Select-A-Tenna
and Rotate the Lazy Susan for the best AM/MW Radio Signal.

This set-up may allow the Peaking and Nulling of AM/MW
Radios Stations that using the Whip Antenna alone will
not allow.

hope this helps - iane ~ RHF

$500 for a top-of-the-line receiver, without DRM ! The SW bands, in a
few years,
will be pretty much useless, can't AM/DX without an external antenna,
can't
receive satellite radio without an external antenna - this receiver
will be useless,
in a few years !

And as Good as the Sony ICF-SW7600GR Radio
is for $150 the Eton E1 XM Radio is a Better Radio
and IMHO Worth-the-Price ! :o)
