New Zealand schedule update

New Zealand updated their schedule and added DRM broadcasting.

This would be a good test of DRM. Maybe some one can compare the DRM and
analog broadcasts and let us know if the DRM is a real improvement or
not.

Yeah, it should continue to improve throughout that schedule segment.

It's coming in better now than 20 minutes ago but still a little noisy
S3 to S7. 13730 will be much better later.

NZ and Australia will be both better late afternoons and evenings.

Both countries fade for me late mornings to early afternoon and are good
most of the rest of the day or night.

Well, now as I type this they are doing worse S2 to S5.

Well, I had a good signal on 13730 until about 02:15 UTC when for
some
reason they went off the air. Been off for a few minutes now, must
be
transmitter trouble.

It appears that the DRM signal on 15720 went away at the same time.
In
any event I heard the DRm noise on 15720 before I went on to listen
on
13730 and at 02:30 UTC the DRm signal is also missing.

Checked their web site and don't see anything about a problem or a
scheduled shutdown.

Well, they just came back on both frequencies at 02:43 UTC.

I concur. Rod Stewart starts singing and off the air they go AGAIN.
Well, it WAS Rod Stewart. I can't blame them for going off air...

Apparently the RNZ transmitter can't handle Rod Stewart.

RNZ just came back on 13730 at 02:56 UTC.

Looks like NZ is continuing to have problems with its transmitter. I
have been listening to 13730 for hours and they have been missing in
action on that frequency. They just came on at 02:48 UTC today and I'll
see how long that lasts. They should have been there since 22:36 UTC
from yesterday.

Maybe I have should have mentioned that we are currently having a
Geomagnetic storm with Kp 5 at one point but that does not seem to be
impeding my reception of NZ or Australia. The 02:48 UTC was a crash
start with a no signal to S6-S8 levels.

I did notice some pretty bad fading from USA east coast stations earlier
today on the 17 MHz band. At the same time Australia was very good on
17715 and weak on 17795. After Australia switched to frequencies on the
15 MHz band they have been good. Currently listening to them on 15515
and NZ on 13730. The NZ DRM signal on 15720 and the AM signal on 13730
are about the same S6-S9 and Australia is around S9.
