Disconnecting and Grounding the Antenna feed-in-lines when not In-Use

Richards,

Disconnecting and Grounding the Antenna feed-in-lines when not In-Use
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Shortw.../message/10169

IIRC - Someone here described diconnecting the Antenna
feed-in-lines at the point where they were entering the
House and then Walking them out about 25 Feet (or was
it Yards} away from the House. This would still leave the
feed-in-lines from the side of the House to the Radios
connected ? ? ?

USE GROUND BUS GROUNDING-OUT {SHORTING} :
If you have a Ground Bus and are disconnecting the
Antenna feed-in-lines from you Radio. You could mount
some SO-239 Jacks on the Bus and Screw the PL-259
Plugs on to them when the Equipment is not in-use.

PRE-SELECTOR GROUNDING-OUT :
As a minimum using an Pre-Selector or Antenna Tuner
with a Ground {Grounded} Switch Position will help
a little. When the Radio is not in-use switch the
Selector to "Ground". Go the Extra-step and diconnect
the Coax Cable between the Pre-Selector or Antenna
Tuner and the Radio.

REMOTE ANTENNA DICONNECT AND GROUNDING :
A very good Two-Position Antenna Switch mounted at
the base of an Antenna with One-Position Shorted and
Grounded and the Other-Position connected to a Buried
feed-in-line can also be a means of Disconnecting the
Antenna from the House and the Radios.
-Note- Still Disconnect the Coax Cable from the Radios
when not in-use.

do what is best for you and make it something
that you will consistently do - iane ~ RHF

Sorry, that was just a figure-of-speech. Is there some sort of SW god,
you all pray to ? Do you all fall into a major depression, every time
an international SW station goes off the air, permanently, such as,
"Voice of the Andes" ? Do you all get together for some sort of burial
ritual ? Help me out here !

Bull****!

I don't hear any "bigotry" or "crazies" or "minutemen" listening to
International SW broadcasters

Your radio must be broken.
