Because all of the appliances in your house (and houses up and down
your street as well)that use microprocessors were quiet. So that you
heard lots more stations and had a very pleasant time.

Am I warm?

If you ever get that monkey off your back you can buy your very own
generator.

Sorry Pal, but I have no use for a smelly generator. The only time
the power goes out here is when Ken Lay pulls the plug on us and I
understand he's been relieved.

Man, it must be hard to find a vein when the lights go out.

Yes.. Agree

Power failures Do have a silver lining. they truly enhance SW reception

had a HUGE blackout here 2 years back; we sat around in Candle light,
eating perishables,
drinking Wine & listening to Shortwave.. From All Over
on portables of different vintages..

Virtually no RF.

what I founf startling is the my local RF oise would not change I am
mostly off gird (utility interfaced for lagre tool and if the sun or
wind does not cooperate so My mdoified sine inverters ware still making
their rf noise (swamping a few freqs all well known to me but the
efeect of everyone else losing power was amasing

Amazing reception..

Today's RFI / EMF Urban & Suburban Noise Environment
extends far beyond our House and reaches for Miles and
Miles all around us. All these little point sources of noise
