Radio Australia problems(?) 8:00-16:00 UTC Wednesday

Anyone see an explanation of why Radio Aus. was only sending out
the automated "Waltzing Matilda" all Wednesday (in Seattle) night?
Spot checking from 08:00 UTC on 9580/9590 and later on 9475, 9560, 6020,
5995 until sometime before 16:15, (when they were back on 9710), that
was all I could hear.

Apparently a feed problem, and has been happening as of late:

** AUSTRALIA. R. Australia`s 9590 transmitter was running continuous
Waltzing Matilda instead of regular programming, July 22 when checked
at 1320, 1337 and 1419. Other frequencies, 9580 (until 14), 9560 and
6020 were normal. Both 9580 and 9590 are Shepparton, so what`s the
problem getting the same programming on both? Different feed circuits,
I suppose, and one of them broke down, but that`s no excuse.

I also checked 6080, and as usual all I could hear was ABC NT relay
not // 6020 or other RA frequencies, and no Singapore audible under.
At 1342 July 22 the DJ mentioned abc.net.au (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST 6-107)

They must be changing something around because there's been some
strange stuff. They've been running the BBC occasionally on 15515 at,
as I remember, 22:00. And one Saturday, at 23:00 on 17795, they had the
BBC ID before the hour in the few minutes after the transmission began,
and then switched to R. Aus. after the time ticks.

It would be nice if they got a hour or two of the Beeb in the
Pacific. R. Aus seems to have enough signals out there at that
hour anyway.

They rebroadcast their domestic network programming for a good part of
the day and that's what I like to listen to the call in programs so hear
the average Australian.

Occasionally they loose their feed to it.

paranoia
And sometimes, (like the recent disagreement with Indonesia about
refugees from West Paupaua (sp?)), the times they lose their feed
seems to corrolate with times when the local domestic broadcasts
may not be diplomatically acceptable.
/paranoia

Interesting observation.
