There is an interesting comparison between the E1 and R75 at Guy Atkins blog
at www.sdr-1000.blogspot.com. It is by a MW DXer in Finland and include an
audio clip of WBBR in NY on the E1. Very impressive. Apparently the Finn got
one of the lower price reconditioned units. As they are availabe for about
$400, I'l have to start shoping around

Is the Icom known as a good MW DX receiver? I never recall hearing this
about it, but I haven't followed the reviews all that closely, either.
I thought the Icom's strength was SW, and especially utilities.

To take full advantage of the R75, you'd need to
disable the MW attenuator. The Kiwa mods would
help as well. I'm not an R75 owner nor an E1
owner, but I imagine that others may have
both.
