When Amateur Radio was used on Swan Island -- the prefix was KD4, KS4 at one
time a DXCC entity. Now deleted

I guess the reason (if there is a reason) I mentioned Swan Island is
because of an article I read a few days ago at
www.cryptome.org/index.html cia-gripe.htm

I wonder what all was going on there, wayyyy back when? Stuff like that
does interest me.Well, you know what they say,,, Curiosity killed the
cat.

I remember them as Radio Americas. Being a naive SWL'er at the time I failed to
try and QSL them. That's one valuable QSL these days.

That was my first long distance MW station. After WJJD 1160 used to go off
every night, I would hear them on 1157kHz. My next dx station was PJB on
800kHz, followed by 4VEF in Haiti. I used a Zenith Royal 41.
