I have an RCA RadioMarine AR-8506A (R-203A) receiver. Other than those
installed on Liberty and Victory ships (part of the 4U radio system), can anyone tell me where else they were used? My particular unit has what appears to be a (typical) Signal Corps inspection stamp on the front panel and has the heavy steel/brass shockmount case with it. Those installed in the 4U systems don't use the case. Inside the case there's a stamped placard with a statement regarding Maritime Commission approval. I believe I heard somewhere that the Corps of Engineers used these on their ships and dredges? Anyone know? Thanks much. |
