Default Best Bang for your Buck DSP Unit?

Is the DSP-9 and DSP-59 still a good bet for S/W reception? I've got an
ICOM R 71-A w/o PBT and always thought/heard that Dave Hershberger's
units were still the best. Please comment on any DSP unit that you use.

Many thanks for taking the time to respond!
