Radioguy, thank you for informing us of this sad news.

------------

Tom was a prolific, brilliant and creative writer and the entire amateur
community will be changed by his passing. His editorial contributions are
well known but few know the many pseudonyms he would write under, usually
poking fun at the things in our avocation that everyone knew deserved it.

In the 1980s this man of world acclaim...a very, very busy man...agreed to
serve on the Board of Directors of a dinky little shortwave club I started,
Great Circle Shortwave Society. The club focussed on the "WPE" shortwave
monitor registration program of which Tom (WPE2AB) started. He chose WPE2AB
because he told me he felt taking "WPE2AA" would be too presumptuous.

Thank you sincerely, Tom. You've left a void in the spectrum that will never
be filled.

Vern Weiss, WA9VLK/WPE9GHF

Weird. About a week ago, I saw an old EI mag at a friend's house, and I
said, "I wonder if he's still around?". I figured he wasn't, since he
was known to be sick for a long time.
