r.org... Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows of a Vintage Stereo Hi-Fi newsgroup. I am interested in newsgroup of the stereos of the 1970's, I would be interested in a such a group also. I have a nice collection of Pioneer receivers from the 70s. SX 838, 939, 1010, 850, 980 and a 1280! All work except the 850, it recently developed the "protection relay does not engage" problem. The 1280 I bought with the right channel amp not working. I actually found the HUGE output transistors for sale and replaced them (along with a couple of other smaller parts) and now it works fine. The 1280 will rattle your bones, although the 980 and 1010 are no slouches, either! The 838 I actually bought new in 1973, and it still works fine. The others were all bought within the last 5 years or so. I also have some nice Teac reel to reels, an X-1000R and 2 X-2000Rs. |

It is pretty dead right now, with only 3 posts this year(!), and only 112 posts going back to June 2003. But the posts that are there indicate it is a vintage equipment group. |
