Announcing: Release to Manufacturing
It's almost here! We're very happy to tell you that we've hit the last big milestone on the way to Windows 7: Release to Manufacturing. We're packaging copies and manufacturers are putting it on new PCs. On October 22, you'll be able to get the final shipping product. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done; you helped make this an operating system we're all going to enjoy. -- Burr Big, Lean, Mean and Clean I'll be lifting until they pry the bar from my cold dead hands Adventure before Dementia |

Surprisingly more agile than Windoze on the same hardware. With the black eye MS took from Vista, if Windows 7 isn't a dramatically better O/S than XP, they're going to have potentially irreversible PR problem going forward. And considering the tortuous process MS has released for migrating from XP to 7, it looks like this will be another great year for Apple. Walt Mossberg has a great column about it. |
