International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend, to be held in August

Following a vote by all the Member Societies in IARU Regions 1, 2 and 3,
the Kosovo Amateur Radio Association (SHRAK) was admitted as a member
society in Region 1

The IARU R1 Monitoring System newsletter reports a spurious emission from
IRIB Tehran on 7225 kHz has been causing interference to 7158 kHz. The
German BNetzA has filed an official complaint

ZS6ZU Hammies camping-out for YOTA

IARU Youngsters On The Air event next weekend the 19th to 20th December
operating as ZS9YOTA from the National Amateur Radio Centre (NARC) at
Sentech Radiokop from 12 noon Saturday to 12 noon Sunday

SAQ transmission on Christmas Eve

It is now 10 years since our first Christmas Eve transmissions started.
There will be, as earlier, a transmission with the Alexanderson alternator
on VLF 17.2 kHz CW from Grimeton Radio/SAQ in the very early morning on
Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24th 2015
