"Boat Anchor" & Classic Equipment

I have no need for 26 of them, so I was going to keep a few for projects and sell the rest to buy more radio toys. I tested them on my Mecury 1000 tester, and they ALL come in around 850 mhos. I read that the 12AY7 has a gain of around 45% of a 12AX7. The book says that a 12AX7 should read 1800, so 45% of 1800 is around 810. Am I incorrect in believing the 12AY7 has good strong output if it only reads 850 on my tester? I want to... Testing 12AY7 tubes |
