I've had my new station on the air now for nearly 2 weeks. The Hustler 5-BTV
is working really well ground mounted with 72 radials. I'm using the DX Engineering stainless steel radial plate and their tilt-over mount which is so sweet. Got a couple dozen antenna installation photos at this link. 1. http://www.ad5th.com/5-BTV.html 73 / DX -- Charlie Ham Radio - AD5TH www.ad5th.com Live Blues Music www.492acousticblues.com |

Thx John and best of DX to you !!!! -- Charlie Ham Radio - AD5TH www.ad5th.com Live Blues Music www.492acousticblues.com Hi Charlie, Great set up on the 5-BTV, I have the same antenna, but roof mounted. How does it do on DX, have you had a chance to work with it much? I've had fair success but am not completely satisfied. I think I need more radials (20 right now). I have a fan dipole set up for 20, 17, 15 and 10 meters and switch back and forth between them. Sometimes they seem about the same and other times one will be much better than the other. I've got a lot to learn about antennas. Congratulations on upgrading to Extra, I'm AD5SM just 21 letters ahead of you. I upgraded in October, so you must have upgraded very recently. Hope to work you on the air someday. Rob |

Hi Rob,
As far as DX goes I keep my DX Logbook online at www.ad5th.com/logbook.html I have been having a ball working DX on 75M at night. No..I did not recently upgrade to Extra. I got my No-Code Tech in May 1995 and upgraded to Extra in November 1995 so I have been an Extra over 9 years. I did recently move to 5 land and so when I updated FCC I asked for a 5 land call. Thanks for your remarks and I hope to catch you on the bands -- Charlie Ham Radio - AD5TH www.ad5th.com Live Blues Music www.492acousticblues.com "Rob" wrote in message om...
