Hello,
I apologize if this is a question has been asked a million times - but a google search has beeen overwhelming. I bought a Teac SL-D88 radio for our kitchen, but the FM reception is terrible. We live in a stone house (18 inch thick stone walls). We have an old (currently unused) TV antenna on our roof that has a coaxial cable running into our basement. The kitchen radio has an external antenna that consists of a single wire (no dipole or coaxial hook-up). Can I connect the radio to the antenna, and how would I do that? Thanks in advance. Michael |

Michael,
The TV antenna will probably help your reception. Try the center conductor on the radio's terminal, or short both inner/outer conductors and try that. Use whichever works best. Inside/outside the house won't make as much difference in what you hear as how high the antenna is. 'Doc PS - Alternate method. Tie rock on end of a long piece of wire. Throw rock over roof. Watch out for windows. |
