alert channels (noaa radio) preferably for less than 100$.

The range on a 27 MHz CB walkie talkie is so poor, to be useless.

FRS radios will go as far or farther and be lighter and clearer.
Some even have weather band (162.4 to 162.55 MHz) built in.


Cuz they suck used cock. Try MURS or FRS.

At those frequencies, a linear would be wasted, UHF/VHF are line of sight,
best investment is in good quality low loss coaxial cable, and effective
antennas.
