I'm getting a het and the Lowe sync whine indicates a signal is there,
but I don't seem to be getting any audio. Sometimes I think I hear
voices, but that's another problem entirely. :-) Seriously, it sounds
like a woman's voice.

At 0130, the het is barely there. Looks like no dice. Drat!

I'm just checking my tape (I was not able to be home at the time),
extremely weak audio, the signal seemed to be very much up and down, at
least at around 0105 or so. Not much luck here I guess, but I'll give it a
listen for the whole 45 minutes I have taped tomorrow.

I hadn't tried for them at their regularly scheduled time in quite a while,
and I was hoping at this time slot they might come in well.

In checking out who might have been on 15475 at the same time it looks like
Radio Rossii has a transmission beamed to the far east at 0100-0400 in Russian,
so that may be the slight audio I received here rather than Antarctica anyway.
Perhaps just a bad propagation day :-( Another day, another time perhaps.

I guess I'm fortunate in the fact that I have a QSL letter from them for a
reception in 1982, however I would like to get their QSL card.

Confusing,

NNN0ICE (a MARS ham station) regularily came in on the ham bands, but
Antarctica can't crank out a broadcast signal?

Propagation, or possibly the test never went off. The station was heard
around 2000 with their regular broadcast by a DXer in Norway.

I can hear modulation for sure, but only when I switch to LSB and use the
"Frankenstein" antenna. In AM or USB, its buried in noise. What I can
hear is voice modulation for sure, but it's so bad, I can't even tell what
language it's in.

I just started following this thread, I think I saw another thread by Steve
on Antartica. If I'm at the QTH today, I will give it a shot on 850ft. of
wire pointed that way, and on the sloper.

I'll report if I hear something. I noticed the one gentleman said on LSB
{?} is this what should be used.....or was he just trying to dig it out of
the hash? I'll try both of the modes and see if I can hear squat. ;-)
