Default LongWire Baluns

Probably not necessary for receiving, more helpful for transmitting. They
will help match your feedline to your antenna. Are you using a coax
feedline?

9:1 is the prefered ratio rather than their 6:1 ratio. A one peice unit is
prefered over their two peice. BTW, it is not a balun.

Not unless you want to hear something. The impedance mismatch when using
coax feedline will attenuate some frequencies. A transformer or UNUN (it's
not a balun) will help.

I am not sure about this model. I do use a balun for receiving with my
155 foot longwire. I have some info on it at:

http://www.angelfire.com/mb/amandx/lim.html

See if it is what u need. Works for me anyway

I use this one. A tad pricey but literally bulletproof.

I'll bet it just spins around a little bit. It's solid epoxy except
for the white plastic outer case.

How long have you had this impulse to shoot electrical equipment?

Never had the inclination to do so but I'll make an exception, just for you.
It won't spin, guaranteed. I'll send you the pieces. When are you going to
send it?

Palomar plays rather loose with the definition of a 'balun'.

Quite true. Not a balun by definition.
