Default GE Super Radio ll Power Switch

I have just inherited a GE Super radio ll with a broken power switch. When I
press it down the radio comes on but the switch does not stay engaged and the
radio shuts off. If I hold the switch down the radio plays fine. Before I begin
to take it apart I'm looking for ideas and suggestions from EXPERIENCED Super
Radio fans who can offer me advice on the possible causes and best method of
repair. Thanks in advance for any help.

Open the radio up on a clean white sheet so you can reclaim all the
tiny parts when the power switch breaks open and comes apart. It's
nearly impossible to avoid breaking it when opening the case.

There's a tiny bent wire that goes inside the switch that arranges
the latching. There's eight ways to put it in; one of them works.

However just bypassing the switch and plugging in and unplugging the
radio works fine.

A plastic fork is good for forcing the knobs off. Just shove it under
the respective knobs, and the tines take them off.
