I have scanned some of the "space weather" sites, and they note that the
sunspots that caused much of the activity before are rotating back to the
visible side of the sun. The one they can see is a little smaller than it
was when it rotated out of view, but we don't know if any new ones have
joined them.

Brother Stair says there could be alot more of this sort of stuff until
this Planet X thing runs it's course. Then things get even worse.

03.55 - BBC on 5.975 very "staticy", S-5. Listening equally
not-so-good
on most other stations in that meter band. I'm getting them all, but
lots of noise and hash tonight, no doubt.

Oddly, I am getting Radio Cima (El Suprrro!!!) from the Dominican
Republic
as good as I ever do at 4.960. It's never "quiet" but I can get it 3
nights out
of 4, which surprises me. Not that I'm complaining, I love the station.

I'm Pacific NW and Cima comes in weakly for an hour or so each night
(but not every night of course). I'd rather just once get Vanuatu on
the same freq... but it's good that I can get Cima at all. Just 1 kw I
think, and I don't have much of an antenna up for my R75 either. Seems
like an unlikely catch for being weak and a bit away.

Been this way for months, since I started fishing 4960.

Yes, Cima is 1,000W. Getting it at all where you are is a good catch
in anyone's book. I use the R-75 too, with (currently) a center-tapped
110 ft.
longwire.


On an exceptional night, I will get it here in Michigan about as
good as an AM station "in the next state over" from about 03:00 to their
sign-off. But that's exceptional. As I said, about 3 nights out of 4 I
get it easily identifiable, but predictably noisy.

at 02:00 was picking up Radio Botwana ( VOA??) on 7.415;
usually this is WBCQ from Maine..
