The 3030 isn't a bad receiver, but it has no preselector filter for the MW
band. Instead, the designers chose to use a 10dB attenuator in that position, with no bandpass filter. I did install a filter section in my unit, along with replacing all of the diodes in the front end, filter switching, and AGC sections with HP 1N5711 PIN diodes. After all of these mods, there was still a minor 2nd order product of WBBM 780 at 1560kHz. The LW band was still laden with MW stations breaking through. If you live out in the country, it isn't a bad receiver, but not in the city, if you plan to do any MW dxing. Pete "Rigali5" wrote in message ... Can you help? Wich would be a better receiver? |
