Default Drake R8B

Hi folks!

Do you know if there has been any improvements or refinements to the R8B
since it was introduced? If so, approximately when did they take place?

Thanks,

MvBB

I don't think there have been any, but you might wish to consult Bill Frost at
R.L. Drake. He'd know for sure.

The only one I can think of is that R8B's with a serial number after
7L1294 can tune down 10kHz.

Yep, that is right. Forgot about that one. I think that was the only
real change.

That's the only one I know about.

The only 'official' change was the ability to tune down to 10-Khz,
however my newer R8B (2001) has fewer 'birdies' than my first one
(1997). They also changed the design of the FM detector circuit, which
is located on the top PC board. I also think the tuning knob encoders on
the recent R8B's are more reliable, possibly due to a change in the
lubricant inside the encoder assembly. That's all I can think of for
now.

FO&A,

QUESTION: So will RL Drake be coming out with a R8"D" Model
that has a 12 kHz IF Output for DRM Signal Processing on a PC ?

When I exchanged a few emails with Drake a few weeks ago I was told that the 'B'
was pretty much it, at least for the foreseeable future.

Not to my knowledge. And I'm not interested in DRM.
