Default WBBM down

For anyone who might find it useful, looks like WBBM is off the air.
There are storms in the area; don't know if that's what did it.
If their powerful 780 KHz signal interferes with your DXing, now's the
time to hit the dial.

________

This might have been the result of the current period of high solar
activity. Normally WBBM is solid here, but can appear to be off the air
under these conditions.

Normally I'd agree with you, but WBBM is less than twenty miles from me and
can put over three volts P-P into a loopstick here at normal power.

I was listening to WBBM at midnight September 15 - 16, and they made a
short announcement that they were going off the air for transmitter
maintenance. They were back this morning when I woke up.

Thanks. Normally I'm listening at that time, but I got in a little bit
late last night.

Damn. Looks like they did it again tonight.
