![]() Are you listening this morning?? I'm poised to see what I hear with my 420 ft of antenna (includiing ladder line, hihi).. I'm tuning the 4700-5000 range currently for the AIR (India) mentions you had.. Will look for the AM commercial broadcast band Asian stations you mentioned out of Japan, Korea, and Malaysia soon. I've worked such places on 160m, so hopefully receiving stronger stations a little lower in freq. is pheasible with my current set up. MsJ |

If you are looking for that kind of DX in that frequency range you might want to start a bit earlier in the morning. dxAce Michigan USA |

Hi MsJ, I was tuning through MW at 1335 this morning, and switched to the tropical bands at 1410. The Malaysian on 1475 was definitely there, but I had only brief bits of audio... MUCH poorer signal than on Oct. 6th. (4895 is/was coming in strongly, though) Overall it seems a below-average morning on MW for the splits. I had just threshold audio at best on 774, 891, 1071, 1377, and 1475. RRI Serui is "almost" on 4605 now, at very strong levels. Both receivers here zero-beat at 4604.997... but hey, what's a few Hertz between friends? A quick scan through 60 meters shows a number of Indians coming through, such as 4840 AIR Mumbai, 4910 AIR Jaipur, and 4920 AIR Chennai. I'm also hearing something on 5010 right now at 1444, which I hope is R. Natl. Malagasy, not AIR Thiruvanathapuram, as Madagascar is a much tougher catch from here. It's just about sunset in Antananarivo, so fingers are crossed for Madagascar. Hmm... now that I listen closer the language sounds to be a tribal or hill country Asian dialect :^( Guy |
