Default zenith short wave radio model # 5529 ... Help needed

Hi,

I need some help. This was found in an attic and I cannot seem to find any
information on this radio or short wave, whatever.

Zenith model # 5529.

I have searched the internet and not had any luck. If you have any idea of
the value and age and information on this item I sure would like to know.

Thanks,

Mary

You might want to try rec.antiques.radio+phono if you don't get an answer here.

According to following web site it was made in 1936 (so was I). Value could
be from $10.00 to the sky's the limit depending on condition. If it's been
stored in an un-heated/cooled attic for years it probably needs lots of
work, I wouldn't advise plugging it in until it has been checked/evaluated,
it could go up in smoke. RM ~

Sure it's not a 5-S-29? If it is, you can find the schematic at
nostalgiaair: http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByM...2/M0024892.pdf

To follow up on my own post. If it's a model number
number it's probably 5s29, and is at the place pointed
to in my previous post. If it's a chassis
number 5529 the Zenith oracle says
that chassis 5529 was used in a handful
of 5s3xx series radios. The schematic is
Riders 9-11, Nostalgiaair has it at
