FW American TV showed satellite views of before and after. In one place, a small island was washed away. In many others, the pristine white sand beaches that drew tourists from around the world are gone, meaning that tourism will likely never recover. People magazine (US) is claiming that the earthquake altered the earth's rotation-does anybody know anything about this since the possibility of that happening was discussed here? |

The quake introduced a slight wooble to the earth's
spin axis. And may tilt it up to several inches. No real world effects expecte. IE there ain't no ice age coming. Terry |
