Default Big Ben at GMT noon, Wednesday

There was the strike of twelve on Big Ben followed by some silence at
least on the stream of BBC 7 at noon, Wednesday, in memory of the
victims of the recent tsunamis.

(The huge 9.0 earthquake seems to have been pushed to the shadow of
the tsunamis; in San Francisco, for many years, they referred to the
events of 1906 as the Great Fire.

In SF, the big quake severed gas and water lines leading to an
out-of-control fire which finally had to be fought by dynamiting
buildings on Van Ness Ave. to make a firebreak.)
